Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
About Our Ministry
Jim serves as the Dean and Associate Professor of Philosophical Theology at Asia Biblical Theological Seminary. As Dean, he oversees the staff, academics. fundraising, and strategy of the school. As a professor, Jim teaches classes in modular or online formats.
About Our Call
At this time in his life, Jim senses that God has called him to serve in academia, particularly in cross-cultural contexts. He has a passion for thinking through theology and ministry as they interconnect with culture and worldviews. He also senses that God has gifted him for administration and teaching.
About Our Family
Jim met his wife, Karen, in high school and started dating when they were 17. They have been married for over 25 years. Their daughter, Ella, was adopted from Taiwan in 2004. She is now attending Cornerstone University as a Business Marketing major. Jim enjoys being outdoors, especially mountain biking and hiking. Karen is interested in CrossFit, an exercise program that connects her with many different kinds of people from around the world. Ella enjoys creating and crafting and then selling the items she has made. She especially likes crocheting and sewing.
Prayer Requests
Pray for the development of new cohorts throughout the Asia-Pacific region, especially for our coordinators as they recruit students and develop new teaching sites for us.
Specifically, pray for new opportunities in India, the Philippines, and Thailand. Pray for Ella as she continues her college education in the US and considers her future career.
Pray for Karen and her ministry at CrossFit. She interacts with many different people from around the world, giving her a unique opportunity to share the love of Christ with those she meets.
Pray for the development of new degree programs at ABTS, including an MA in Counseling and eventually a Doctor of Ministry program.
