Facilities Manager

Position Type: 
Full-Time Salaried, Exempt
Hours:
4-day office week plus responsibilities on Sundays. Some evenings required.

Executive Pastor
Role Summary:

The primary focus of the Facilities Manager is to maintain, in coordination with church leadership, the

facilities for the purpose of fulfilment of the vision at Grace Community Church. This person is responsible

for representing Grace Community Church to all that support the operations of this facility from within our

body and those Grace contracts with. This position will report to the Executive Pastor.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
Requirements:
  •  Required to align with the Mission Vision, Values and Statement of Faith of Grace Community Church.

  • Preferred to live within the reasonable commuting distance of Grace Community Church and become a member.

  • Prefer 5 years of fulltime experience facility maintenance or similar.

  • Hands on worker with handy man type of skills.

  • Have or willing to get certification to operate a scissor lift.

  • Experience with work requiring organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and activities.

  • Some experience with various types of technology (Computer operation, project management software, networking and electronic communication).

  • Experience with successfully building relationships with a variety of people and organizations.

Role & Responsibilities:

Interior |

  •  Oversee and take part in the cleaning of all areas of the church facilities as needed and as activity deems necessary.

  • Oversee and take part in the set up/tear down and anticipate requirements regarding the facilities before/after each meeting, service, or outside event.

  • Oversee the access of the facilities as needed for meetings and services. Insuring access well in advance and proper securing of the facility at the end of the day.

  • Be responsible for the facilities and respond to any emergencies or needs that are not planned.

  • Be responsible for insuring proper maintenance of the buildings. 

  • Have a working knowledge of the technology on campus, and particularly in the auditorium.

  • Have familiarity and working knowledge of all mechanical equipment and the kitchen.

Exterior |

  • Coordinate and oversee lawn care and exterior maintenance.

  • Attain and maintain a landscape that complements our church.

  •  Coordinate, oversee and log church vehicle and equipment use.

  • Maintain, clean, and prepare church vehicles for use.

  • Be the person to contact in case of emergency with any church owned vehicle.

  •  Ensure sidewalk and doorways are free of snow.

  • Oversee parking lot snow removal and provide safe winterized sidewalks and doorways for all church activities.

General Responsibilities |

  • Provide input to establish annual budget and capital expenditures for facility needs.

  • Seek out and train volunteers to aid in support of facility needs.

  • Work as the main project manager for projects specific to the current facility.

  • Purchase maintenance, cleaning supplies, and repair items and services as needed within budget.

  • Maintain facility access controls for staff and other authorized members.

  • Maintain asset management data base and maintenance software.

  • Supervise part-time assistant and/or vendors to help with cleaning and maintenance as needed.

  • Attend weekly staff meetings.

  • Coordinate weekly work schedule with office staff.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • The Facilities Manager does not let his/her responsibilities crowd out a personal walk and renewal before God.
